Iran is prepared to reinitiate atomic discussions with Washington as long as it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has declared.

The Iranian diplomat stated exclusively dialogue produced results, and shared new appeals had originated from intermediaries to reopen talks with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran did not have unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Walking a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is navigating a complex path since Iran wishes not to be seen to be operating from a position of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged more powerful in military terms and mentally from the joint assault on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to enrich uranium on home soil that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the impasse in the prior discussions.

Prior Talks Unexpectedly Terminated

The previous five rounds of talks between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Tehran's atomic facilities in a two-week conflict that culminated with the American leader declaring the sites had been eliminated. Afterward, European countries exercised their right to reinstate international penalties, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had reached a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. Each party would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been agreed in the talks that American atomic experts could operate on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Diplomats stated three times they had achieved a deal with the US representative the American negotiator only for the agreement to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Existing Position

Tehran representatives stated the cooperative arrangement was now withdrawn, but it seems quite possible the suggestion could be reintroduced in certain ways if talks resume.

Negotiating Position

In his address to the forum, designed to paint the US as a dominant force that exploits the idea of global regulations, Araghchi said the fortnight-long engagement showed the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He asserted the attacks started with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an complete request for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were executed with total Washington understanding and collaboration, making faith challenging to reestablish.

Diplomacy Continues the Ultimate Answer

The foreign minister stated: "It was not Iran that had deserted dialogue; it was the United States and the western countries that had consistently tried to enforce their demands during the talks. Dialogue can still be alive and stays the final resolution to settle disagreements, but its criteria, guidelines and tenets must be followed."

"If they address to the citizens of Tehran with the approach of dignity and honor, they will receive a reply in the equivalent tone."

Restoration and Recovery

In what is portrayed by Tehran representatives as the battle of restoration and recovery, the foreign minister said he was confident Iran's military capacities "are considerably enhanced than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We acquired multiple understandings from this conflict; we have identified our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."

He continued: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to eliminate, remains in place. The sites and gear, if destroyed, will be reconstructed; what is crucial is the resolve of the nation of Iran and then the unity of the country that they targeted, but were unable to destroy. The Iranian people have become more resilient, more integrated, and more backing of the government and the state in the wake of this attack."
