Throughout a dominant display, the English national team wrapped up a further victory versus their opponents, featuring multiple players turning in notable displays throughout the game.
Starting XI
Dean Henderson Was rarely tested to perform before the break before forced to intervene by an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding intervention against an Albanian attacker highlighted excellent anticipation. Six out of ten
The debutant Tested by the opposition's biggest threat in their forward. Played more centrally to begin with then shifted out wide after a teammate came on. 7
The defender Advanced into midfield on the ball, a familiar role before. At times was too casual in possession and the experiment was shelved by the interval. 6
The tall defender A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, as always, but may be an alternative for his teammate in defense rather than his partner. One wayward ball in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal for Albania. 6/10
The young full-back One more confident display by the youngster after his first cap versus another side. Saka failed to make full advantage of a gorgeous touch behind their defense. The role is firmly his at this stage. 7/10
Adam Wharton A debut start in an England shirt. A bit careless when playing out but his whipped deliveries posed a danger. A useful game manager available to the coach to utilize versus sides that sit back. Shown a yellow after a reckless challenge. 6
The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Enjoyed license to roam down the left flank but was in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a merited break on the hour mark. Six
The star midfielder Operated in a high position out wide and also contributed with defensive duties. Showed flashes of quality and mishit an attempt high. Withdrawn late on for a teammate, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7
Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's best chance in the opening period, his shot well saved by the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah holding position, it fell to him to offer an outlet on the right but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. 6/10
The captain The match-winner with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes at international level. The opener a trademark poacher’s finish while the second an excellent headed goal following a clever run from his marker. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and the side are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8/10
The attacker Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a good opening after being played in by the midfielder yet the keeper kept it out. His replacement produced a bigger effect in his place. 5
