It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.
